OAKDA Masterplan Consultation
Berkeley Homes recently held a public consultation on their revised Masterplan for the Oval and Kennington Development Area (OAKDA – ‘the gasholder site’). Their exhibition can be found here.
Upgrading the CCTV monitoring system
In July we reported that the TRA had submitted formal complaints in respect of Hyde’s consultation on an upgraded CCTV monitoring system (see below). Hyde has now issued a statutory section 20 notice of intention. The TRA’s formal response to it can be found here. Hyde has informed us that they are taking some time to consider our response. We very much welcome this constructive response and hope that this means that notice is being taken of our views and observations. Proposed redevelopment of the former Cricketers pub
RSL Land recently held a drop-in session in the Community Centre to show local residents their plans to redevelop the site of the former Cricketers pub on the corner of Clayton Street and Kennington Oval. These are their plans:
Tenants’ Association Annual General Meeting – 27 September 2017
The Kennington Park Estate Tenants’ & Residents’ Association Annual General Meeting will be at 7pm on Wednesday 27 September 2017. All tenants and leaseholders resident on KPE are members of the TRA and all are welcome to attend. Community Centre news
Our Community Centre is getting busier! Our schedule of Autumn events and activities is filling up with both old and new users – check out the kpccoval website. Along with Akosua of AkomaAsa Performing Arts Academy (our regular Saturday users) and Shannon of Simply Smiley Productions (from nearby Oval House), we organised an opening day on Saturday 29 July when local artist, Boyd, provided an amazing splash of colour on the wall coming into the Centre – His relaxed Turtle has now been joined by a family of elephants by international artist, Falko (you can see more here ) Everyone had a great time! And here’s the video of the event – Many many thanks to Shannon and Akosua for all their work and this amazing production!
